Thanks for sharing your thoughts of the painting. You said you have chosen the ‘Starry Night’ painting, but it looks like you are actually describing the ‘Day and Night’ painting. I think you have made some pretty strong observations though!
I agree that it looks like the two villages mirror each other. They appear to be exactly the same, apart from one is during the day, and the other is during the night. I like how you said the day village looks “quiet” and “happy” while the night village looks “abandoned”. Isn’t it interesting how they feel different even though they reflect each other?
I think this artist is pretty talented. Do you like this kind of painting? MC Escher was very good at creating images that mirror each other. They are almost like little mind puzzles.
